ST. ALBERT, ALBERTA

The Botanical Arts City

About St. Albert, Alberta

Adjacent to the north west corner of Edmonton in Sturgeon County, St. Albert is the second largest city in the Edmonton Capital Region. With a population of over 61,000 and 22,500 homes, St. Albert real estate is some of the most coveted in the area. St. Albert has one of the highest net incomes per citizen in all of Canada, and continues to grow and expand its borders at a healthy pace.

The iconic St. Albert Place in the heart of the city's charming downtown has become the focal point for most of the cultural and local political activities. Built in 1984 and designed by world-renowned Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal, the sculpted curves of the building mimic the nearby Sturgeon River. This building is home to both the local municipal government and cultural facilities, including City Hall, the St. Albert Public Library, the Musee Heritage Museum, the Visual Arts Studio, and the Arden Theatre.

St. Albert is home to a vast interconnected trail system and has one of the highest proportions of green space in the country, making it one of Canada's prettiest smaller cities. With over 70 kilometres of connected multi-use trails and parks in every community, St. Albert prides itself on being one of the most beautiful and safe places in Alberta to raise a family.

As a small city, St. Albert provides residents with every service and amenity, from municipal health and safety services to big box stores and major recreational facilities. Yet St. Albert takes enormous pride in its local businesses as well: every Saturday from June to October, St. Albert's downtown is host to the single largest Outdoor Farmers' Markets in Western Canada, attracting 10,000 to 15,000 people to the streets every weekend.

St. Albert offers everything an active, growing family is looking for in a home, including top schools, over 70 sports and community clubs, a local hospital, and miles of beautiful parkland. St. Albert offers a unique living experience in an environment free of heavy industrial development, and is widely considered to be one of the safest, friendliest and most well maintained cities in Canada.
